I've gone to numerous Maryland Championship Wrestling matches, but not as many as I would like to go to. I've recently decided, and announced on Facebook, that WDR will begin covering their shows, via the MCW network, and will do so live from their shows in Joppa. MCW does everything right, all roster members are thoroughly trained, wear solid wrestling gear, and there isn't a single over the top gimmick to be found. While I enjoy all of MCW, I've come to greatly appreciate the stable lead by Colonel Calihan, called The Appalachian Outlaws. Oakley Woods, Bo Nekoda, and Hoss Hagood are solid in ring performers that gel very well, and look even better. They don't play "Hillbillies" or "Goofy Rednecks." This isn't an over the top gimmicky mess. Instead, imagine if you will, Terry Funk, Stan Hanson, and Terry Gordy coming together under the management of Colonel Parker. While these men are not imitations of those past greats, I just want you to get an idea of what their teaming could be compared to, so you have an idea. These three wrestlers are easily top contenders for any singles championship, as well as the tag team titles, and I in fact would not be surprised to see them obtain numerous championships before too long. While many MCW fans are focused on King Ryan McBride, and his court, as well as The Echtourage, and Black Wallstreet (as well they should) The Outlaws are gaining more, and more, momentum. In fact, on December 26th, in Joppa, the team of Woods and Nekoda over came indy wrestling darlings Sean Carr and Kai Katana when a new member of the Outlaws revealed HERSELF and distracted the usually self disciplined Katana. Ivy Woods (sister to Oakley) is yet another formidable addition tot he Outlaws and now lines them up for the possible capture of the MCW women's title as well! I am a big fan of good, solid, stables, and The Outlaws without a doubt fit that bill. Keep an eye out for big things, and Wrestling Done Right from the Appalachian Outlaws!
